“Cancer”

This man was sitting in front of a medical institution where they send people when they only have limited time left and nowhere to go. It took some courage to approach him. I politely asked for a photo. He replied: “Sure, go ahead. They’re funeral photos anyway.” We briefly talked about cameras, I wished him peace and left. A strong moment for me.

“Hera”

I needed another subject after I had photographed the dieing man with his dropper.
I just got back to my house when I got this idea seeing my neighbour’s kid playing with a wooden stick.

“Flooded I”

The flood set was taken in the Spring, when the whole Southern-Estonia is flooded after the snow has melt. It’s an annual happening.

“Ablaze”

Early spring when the ice is starting to melt away. I liked the contrast the sunset gave.

“Flora exchange”

This was shot in the swamplands in the West of Tallinn, surrounding the suburbs I live in. Some crooks set the woods on fire around six years ago. The pines, while dead, are still left standing. Fresh stems are slowly making their way through the ground.

“Grave of the Witch of Äksi”

This slightly surreal view is right next to the village Witch of Äksi used to live in before her death. The Witch of Äksi, maiden name Hermine Elisabeth Jürgens was a clairvoyant and a therapist from the last century. The landscape is designed by Maire-Runtel Orav.

“The frost”

I liked the composition and had this idea. The days had started to become very cold and I wanted to portray it somehow.

“Friendly curtain”

I think this photo is from the first roll of film I ever shot. We found this old decayed manor house hidden in the woods, the surrounding atmosphere was very dark and powerful.

“Find a spot”

What I particularly liked about this scene was the yellow lights contrasting from the windows.

“Raining again”

I found the light calming, glowing through the curtains like that. It felt good having a warm room under your feet that morning, outside wasn’t really calling.

“1 PM”

I took this right after I managed to pull myself up off the bed sheets. I had left my camera on the tripod last night.
Good night.

My name is Sander. I'm a suburb kid from Tallinn - Estonia, I'm 18 years old and find pleasure in arts. I like browsing around the city while you're asleep, driving the country-side and going down the woods, anywhere without a certain marked destination. Surely while packed with a camera noticing the aesthetics. I'm always carrying a camera with me, I rarely use it though, it's just reassuring to know you're not going to miss a perfect shot when it shows.
